Founding Trustees Sindi and Ron Schwartz

Longtime Laguna Beach residents Sindi and Ron Schwartz are Founding Trustees at The Laguna Playhouse.

Both are dedicated and passionate volunteers. Ron is a past President of the Playhouse and Sindi served as gala chair for 2 years. The 2002 gala, which Sindi chaired, was the first charity event to be staged in the just opened Montage Resort & Spa.

Ron grew up in a Los Angeles barrio deeply influenced by his immigrant parents. His mother frequently questioned the treatment of the downtrodden by asking, “Where’s the justice in that?” His mother’s challenges lead Ron to a law degree and practice as a trial lawyer. Shaina Colover, Sindi and Ron’s daughter earned her law degree and has joined the practice.

Below Ron’s Newport Beach office is another family business, Muldoon’s Dublin Pub & Celtic Bar where the Playhouse’s favorite Irish playwright Bernard Farrell holds a place of honor on a tribute wall. Sindi and their youngest daughter Marissa work together managing Muldoon’s.

Sindi is the artistic one in the family. She earned degrees in education and theatre arts and worked on stage as an actress for a time.

Sindi and Ron were honored at this past Playhouse Gala for their extraordinary commitment to the Playhouse. Ron shared some of his thoughts about being a Trustee. “We have made some of the finest and long-lasting friendships with literally dozens of wonderful people as Trustees.”

A recent family milestone was reached when their daughter Shaina gave birth to Ella Rose Colover, their first grandchild.
