Fourteen-year-old Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen often think about life before the war. But it's now 1943 and their life in Copenhagen is filled with food shortages and Nazi soldiers marching in their town. Both girls try to maintain normal lives under Nazi occupation, but after it’s announced that the Jews of Denmark are being “relocated,” Ellen moves in with the Johansens and pretends to be part of the family. Annemarie is then asked to go on a dangerous mission, and somehow must find the strength and courage to save her best friend's life.

For ages 9 and up. Parental guidance and attendance is recommended.
